What Is A Healthy Church Member?

Have you ever wondered what it actually means to be a part of the local church? Have you studied the calling and the importance we have as Christians to be intimately involved with the local church? Have you wanted to grow in your understanding of the church and what we are called to do? Are you simply ready to grow deeper in your walk with Christ and to be a more faithful disciple of Jesus?

If any of those are true, this fun and interactive Sunday morning class is for you. Starting October 20, and going for a total of five classes to end on November 17, Portico is hosting our What Is A Healthy Church Member? Class. This class will be held at Portico during the 9 a.m. service on Sunday mornings. This class is primarily being hosted by Pastor Desmond. This class is intended to give great biblical insight into the why’s, how’s, and the what’s of being a healthy church member and disciple of Jesus looks like.

This class is based upon the book by Christian author Thabiti Anyabwile called “What is a Healthy Church Member?“. Each class will cover the topics that are laid out in this short book. There are 10 chapters in the book, and each class will cover two chapters of material from the book. Participants will be required to read the two chapters corresponding with that week’s lesson.

This is going to be a fun, engaging, interactive and impactful learning experience for Portico. We are encouraging current Portico Investors (members) to participate, but the class is open for anyone wanting to learn more about the church and being an active part of Portico. Even college students who are getting ready to graduate and would like to know what to look for in a church.

Space is limited, so sign up now! You will need the book to participate, but books will be provided!

If you have any questions, please call or email Joe Teichman at [email protected]! We hope you join us for this fun and important class!
