Day of Healing

Day of Healing is an annual event with the mission of connecting the Church to the community, and the community to Christ. Each year, local churches, across denominations, gather together for a day of food, fun, and fellowship. 

Day of Healing began in 2023 in response to violence in the Charlottesville community. Portico joined together with City Church and Mt. Zion First African Baptist Church to bring awareness to the needs of the community, work toward healing, and unify the local body of churches.

This year, Day of Healing will include a week of service (June 21-26) prior to the event. Local churches will identify needs and arrange volunteer teams to meet those needs, and invite our neighbors to the event on June 27th.
