Jonny Reeve
Discipleship Director

Jonny Reeve serves as the Director of Discipleship at Portico, where he helps lead Community Groups, Membership, and Discipleship/Teaching efforts. He loves seeing people grow in their love for God and one another, and enjoys creating spaces where meaningful growth and shared life can take root.

He holds a business degree from James Madison University and is working to complete a seminary degree at Reformed Theological Seminary. Jonny is also an Associate Certified Coach (ACC) with the International Coaching Federation and holds a certificate in ministry strategic planning.

Before stepping into his current role, Jonny served as a pastor at Portico Arlington for 13 years, contributing to nearly every area of church life—particularly worship, liturgy, leadership development, and operations. He also serves as the Executive Director of Front Porch Partnership, where he helps pastors and ministry leaders grow as relational leaders. He’s passionate about bringing that experience to strengthen and support leaders at Portico.

Outside of ministry, Jonny is married to his wife Jess, and they have two boys, Davis and Levi. He’s a massive Liverpool FC and Chicago Cubs supporter—and a fan of all things sports—and also enjoys meeting new people, traveling, being outdoors, and diving into new hobbies, whether it’s podcasting or being an amateur barber.

Amy Hovis
Connections Director

Amy was born and raised in Charlottesville, Virginia (Go Hoos!) and has called Portico home since 2008. She earned her B.S. in Public Health from James Madison University and a Master’s in Special Education from Mary Baldwin. Before becoming a mom, Amy worked as a special education teacher with Albemarle County Public Schools.

At Portico, Amy has served in a variety of volunteer and staff roles, especially within Portico Kids. Along the way, she met and married her Community Group sweetheart, Jeremiah, and together they’re raising three beautiful children.

Now serving as our Connections Director, Amy is passionate about helping others find meaningful relationships and a place to belong. She loves meeting new people each week and desires to see everyone find a church family they can call home. She has a special gift for getting visitors plugged into Community Groups.

Outside of church life, Amy enjoys baking, shopping, 90s country, family nights at Guad, workouts at BURN Bootcamp, Grit coffee, and spending time on the water. She also loves opening her home to friends and family—and can’t wait to connect with you on a Sunday morning!
