PORTICO KIDS | WHAT TO EXPECT

SAFETY Policies And Procedures During Coronavirus (COVID-19):

Portico Kids will always consider the health and safety of our children and of our Volunteer Team a top priority. We are committed to providing a high quality and safe environment for our children during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. We are continuously monitoring the latest developments in and around our community. As more information becomes available, we are adapting and making changes to our safety measures and protocols. We are also following guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Virginia Department of Health (TJHD). In line with safety measures, we are implementing the following protocols and policies in place to prevent the spread of COVID-19:

The Nursery | A Safe Place for our Littlest Ones (6 Weeks Old - Crawling)

During this unique time, the Nursery is only available for the babies of the Volunteers currently serving in Portico Kids.

The Nursery is a loving place for our youngest Portico kids. Volunteers in the Nursery will spend time playing, talking, reading, singing and praying with your little one. Napping is a common pastime in the Nursery too, and there is a dedicated room dedicated to sleepy little ones. Volunteers are also happy to give your child a bottle from home. Please have as much of the bottle prepared ahead of time with water in a container and the formula pre-measured. Volunteers are not able to leave the room to get or heat bottles or water during the service.

To serve you best, please label all of your child’s things before dropping them off.

ADDITIONAL SAFETY FOR OUR BABIES DURING COVID
Nursery Volunteers will wear masks while serving. Also, your little one will be paired with one Volunteer to limit contact with others (1:1 Ratio). While they are in our care, babies will have a baby seat, play pad, and pack ‘n play just for them. Parents will be paged if a diaper change is needed during service.

The Corner | For Walkers - Children Under 3 Years Old

Families can reserve a spot in Portico Kids for their toddlers online HERE.

Kids in the Corner are able to engage in free play for the first part of service.  About halfway through service, Volunteers will share a Bible story and help the children with a memory verse to learn about  our amazing God.  Volunteers will also pray for and with the children.

Following the Bible story, kids will continue to play until it is time for them to be picked up. Parents/guardians should receive a take-home sheet and memory verse card for each new lesson.

To serve you best, please label all of your child’s things before dropping them off.
