Good evening Portico families,

Pastor Daniel and I wanted to connect with our families on 4 announcements that may be of interest to your family!

Please read below for further info on each item:

PARENT'S NIGHT OUT
Moms. Dads. When's the last time that you dated your spouse without having to worry about your toddler screaming, a child not wanting to finish the veggies on their plate, or a complete meltdown. Maybe you've just longed for a night of intentional conversation over a meal – just the both of you. Well, what do you know?! CONNECT is offering to help watch your kids (and raise support for summer camp) as you get to have that date night you've always wanted. On May 14, come drop your kids off at Portico from 4:30-6:30pm. We'll eat dinner, watch a movie, and eat popcorn!

BAPTISM CLASS
Have a child with a desire to be baptized or asking questions about baptism? Plan to attend this brief lunch + baptism class where Jason Conner, Desmond Glenn, and Jon Watts will teach on the sacraments of baptism + communion. This class is the precursor to signing up for one of our 3 Summer baptism Sundays. The class will be after the 11:00am service on Sunday, June 5th from 12:45-2:00pm. The child and at least one parent should plan to attend!

PK SUMMER CAMP
I'm sure some of you may have been wondering if we were planning on having a kids camp this year, since we throw some pretty epic ones that bless, encourage, and uplift our young children. Unfortunately, this year we won't be able to make that a reality. One of our desires for kids camp is to make it accessible to everyone, so that all children – both inside and outside the church – are able to hear the gospel. The reason we were able to have it last year was because we 1. had a Kids Camp Director and 2. felt like there was a huge need for our kids to have camp after being in isolation, even though we weren't able to open it up to our community in Charlottesville.

Currently, as we are in the middle of a leadership transition while looking to hire a full time Kids Director, we don't think we can make kids camp happen this summer. As Pastor Jason said, we are looking as a church to be brilliant in the basics this year. As we continue to build our volunteer team and Lord willing, fill the Kids Director position, our hope is that we will be able to have an amazing Kids Camp next year.

CHILD DEDICATIONS
Save the Date! We will be celebrating Child Dedications on Sunday, July 17th at both the 9am and 11am services. Registration to come!
