Good afternoon Members, Attenders, and Friends of Portico Church,
Jon Watts, who has been our pastoral resident since Fall of 2020, is in the process of completing his nearly two year residency program with Portico Church. After years of diligent work, Jon graduated from Grimke Seminary with his Masters in Theological Studies last month. Jon and his wife, Sarah, plan to relocate this summer as he pursues his calling into full-time vocational ministry as a Pastor.
Jon and Sarah, and their two boys, Leon and Ezra, have quickly become beloved members of our Portico family. We are thankful for their hearts to serve our church, love and disciple others, and grow and learn during their time here. They were quick to jump in and serve, join a Community Group, and begin to live life alongside members of our church.
We are thankful for Jon’s willingness to preach the Word on Sunday mornings, develop and lead a prayer workshop, revitalize our Hospitality Ministry, outline sermon series, and invest in ministries like Portico Kids and CONNECT. You can also find Jon joyfully willing to fill the gaps and jump in wherever, however, whenever. This was all while carrying a full graduate- level course load & raising a family.
We are thankful for Jon and Sarah, and look forward to supporting them as they transition to their next church family. Wherever the Lord leads the Watts family, we are confident their church will be immensely blessed by their leadership, discipleship, & friendship.
