Welcome Courtney!

Dear Portico Family,

I have exciting news to share with you! As you may remember, earlier this year we began looking for a Portico Kids Director. After much prayer and seeking, one of our treasured Portico Members, Courtney Dillard, expressed interest in learning more. It's become clear that Courtney is God’s answer to our prayer.

Courtney Dillard has accepted the position of Portico Kids Director and will begin on Monday, June 27th, 2022.

Courtney builds on a 28-year legacy of teaching and leadership at V.L. Murray Elementary School in Albemarle County where she taught 1st, 4th, and 5th grade students. Courtney is an incredibly gifted educator, leaving an indelible mark on her students, parents, and co-workers. Aside from her vocation as a teacher, Courtney is committed to her spiritual growth, and remains a life-long servant of Jesus.

Courtney and her dog Huckleberry call Crozet home. She loves bible studies, Diet Pepsi, and planning! You may recognize Courtney from her years of serving on the Hospitality Team. Always welcoming, she has been a dedicated member of ensuring Portico Church is a hospitable place, putting visitors at ease. Courtney has been a committed member of her Community Group, and a consistent participant in women’s bible studies.

We believe the Lord has uniquely gifted Courtney for this ministry role. She brings enthusiasm, leadership, compassion, and self-awareness. We believe that she will serve our families well for years to come. As Portico Kids Director, her goal is to come alongside parents as they equip their children to live as disciples of Jesus. Courtney has a passion for children, a gift for organization, a keen attention to detail and planning, and she delights in the Lord. All of which makes her an exceptional fit as our new Portico Kids Director.

A huge thank you to Portico Kids Coordinator Holly Good who has served Portico Church so faithfully. Holly and Courtney will be overlapping this summer as Holly closes out her role. Holly has been such a joy to have on our team, particularly her willingness to jump in and serve wherever needed. We will also miss her tiny companion, Saoirse, who brought shy smiles and joy to our workweek.

Please join me in welcoming Courtney to the team! Parents: expect to hear from Courtney in the weeks to come.

Yours in Christ,

Jason Conner
